Fairbanks Men sentenced to 46 and 28 months
Anchorage, Alaska B U.S. Attorney Karen L. Loeffler announced today that two men from Fairbanks, Alaska were sentenced in federal court in Fairbanks for their role in a Fairbanks drug conspiracy.
Johnny Toussaint, a/k/a, “Blaze,” 29, and Cornelious Snowden, a/k/a, “Bobby,” 34, both from Fairbanks, Alaska were sentenced on Monday and Wednesday by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Ralph R. Beistline. Toussaint received a sentence of 46 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release. Snowden received a sentence of 28 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release. Toussaint and Snowden had previously pled guilty to an indictment charging them and their co-conspirators with one count of drug conspiracy.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Cavanaugh, Toussaint and Snowden were members of a drug trafficking organization in Fairbanks that between June 2010 and March 2011, sold crack cocaine, powder cocaine, and oxycodone pills in Fairbanks. Toussaint and Snowden sold crack and powder cocaine in the Fairbanks community. Toussaint and Snowden and other members of the conspiracy attempted to conceal their drug trafficking by claiming they were involved in a legitimate business, specifically that they were “artists,” employees, or promoters of Fairbanks recording labels they owned called “20 Blocc Entertainment” and “Oil Money Entertainment.” These business licenses were held in the names of members of the conspiracy. Toussaint, Snowden and their co-conspirators mainly operated in the area known as the “Southside” of Fairbanks, this is an area of Fairbanks where the Avenues are numbered in the 20’s, this is how the co-conspirators came up with the name “20 Blocc” for their organization.
Four other members of the conspiracy have previously been sentenced, Martin Linenko was sentenced to 85 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release; Adrian Steele was sentenced to 57 months imprisonment and 3 years supervised release; Tremain Wilson was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment and 5 years supervised release; and Tyrone Kimble was sentenced to 24 months and 3 years supervised release.
Ms. Loeffler commended the Alaska State Troopers, Fairbanks Police, University of Alaska Fairbanks Police, North Pole Police, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Toussaint and Snowden.
